No-Bake Cocoa Sesame Energy Balls

When you crave something sweet but do not want industrial biscuits, these bites are lifesavers.

Energy balls have become one of the world's most popular healthy snacks in recent years, and the reason is clear: no oven, no special skill, and ingredients you usually already have at home. Our chocolate sesame version needs only four items: one cup of oats, half a cup of cocoa sesame cream, three tablespoons of honey, and two tablespoons of cocoa powder.

Method

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until you get a cohesive dough; if it is too loose add a little more oats, and if too dry add a little more sesame cream. With slightly damp hands, shape walnut-sized balls and refrigerate for 30 minutes to set. This batch yields about 15 balls.

You can vary this base every time: roll the balls in toasted sesame or coconut powder, tuck a whole almond inside each one, or add a spoonful of chia seeds for a higher-protein version. Kids love the rolling stage too — this is one of the best shared cooking activities with children.

The balls keep up to one week in the refrigerator in a sealed container and up to one month in the freezer. One or two before the gym or as an afternoon snack is enough to satisfy a sweet craving without reaching for industrial pastries.
